Office Administrator at 25 Blythe Road

 

Full Time, Fixed term (Maternity Cover) for 6 months initially with the view to extend to one year from 10th July 2017.  Need to be available for paid training one or two months before start date.

 

25 Blythe Road, founded in 2007 by Thomas Del Mar, is a cooperative of specialists running their own auctions across a broad range of disciplines.  We are seeking to recruit an Office Administrator to join the team at an exciting time before a busy forthcoming auction period.

Internship Programme Summary at 25 Blythe Road:

 

25 Blythe Road, based in Kensington Olympia, was founded by Thomas Del Mar in 2007 and is cooperative of specialists, running auctions under one roof.  Specialists hold two sales in their dedicated field each year.  Pre-sale viewings for both online and live auctions take place at the gallery in 25 Blythe Road.  If you decide to join the internship programme then you will be exposed to and involved in all disciplines to include, Antique Arms, Armour & Militaria, British & Continental Pictures, Photographs, Film Posters & Memorabilia, European & Asian Works of Art and Maritime and Scientific Antiques, Collectables and Works of Art.

 

Tasks:

  • Interact with clients and facilitate all phases of the sales process.

  • Answer telephones, screen and direct calls, take messages and provide information to prospective vendors and purchasers.

  • Liaise with clients at front of house and assist with clearing items.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to assist in office administration.

  • General administrative duties, including managing client correspondence and assisting principals.

  • Assist with social media promotion.

  • Assist with the setting up of public views and auctions.

  • Carry out research and compiling data for the art market.

  • Telephone bid.

  • Pack, ship and assist with stock management.

  • Work closely with the specialists during catalogue production and paste up.

  • Being part of a team

  • Proof reading

Commitment:

 

3 month programme consisting of 2 to 3 days a week from 10am to 4pm with one hour for lunch, ideally the same consecutive days each week £10 per day to cover travel and subsistence costs.
